“We’ve lost our home. We’re trying not to lose hope.”
Hello everyone,
My name is Husam, and I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart and an urgent plea. My family and I are caught in the horror of the ongoing war in Gaza, a nightmare that has shattered our lives and left us with nothing but survival as our only goal.
About a month into the war, my brother Mohammed made the heartbreaking decision for us to leave our home. The violence around us had become unbearable. Every hour brought new explosions, new losses.
Since then, we’ve been displaced, forced to move between Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, depending on the shifting orders of the occupation. We carry what little we have and pray each time that we’ll find shelter.
Our home is gone, destroyed in the chaos. But we’re still here, trying to survive… trying to hope.

At first, I was doing everything I could to support my family. But as the war drags on, and resources become almost non-existent, I can no longer carry this alone. We are out of food. Out of water. Out of safety.
My family includes:
• My elderly grandmother, who is very ill and needs medical care we can’t provide.
• My mother and father, exhausted and sick with worry.
• My brother Mohammed, doing everything he can to keep us together.
• My sister, her young daughter and son, both terrified, living a childhood that no child should endure.

There is no stable access to food or clean water.
Aid trucks barely arrive and when they do, chaos breaks out. Sometimes we wait hours in line and get nothing. Other times, we don’t even try, because the shelling is too close.
We sleep under plastic sheets, or whatever temporary shelter we can find, as drones fly overhead and the sound of bombings never stops.
We don’t ask for luxuries. We just want to survive.
To eat.
To drink clean water.
To give the children a chance to feel safe — even for one day.
Please, if you can support us in any way, your help could mean the difference between life and death for my family.
Every donation "no matter how small" helps us buy food, water, medicine, or shelter for just one more day.
Even sharing this message with others could save a life.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring.
With all our hearts
Husam and Family
