My name is Lubna, and I am a psychology counseling graduate from Gaza. My husband, Mohammad, is a lawyer. Before the war, we worked hard to build a stable and safe life for our family. We had a home and simple dreams for the future. Today, our home has been destroyed, the stability we worked for is gone, and our family is struggling to meet even the most basic needs amid war and displacement.

Our family is now living under extremely difficult conditions. After our home was destroyed, we were forced to move into a rented shelter that houses 15 members of our family. We pay the landlord approximately $1,000 every month for this shelter.

During the war, I experienced pregnancy under extremely difficult conditions, living with fear, hunger, and the constant sound of bombardment. I lost two previous pregnancies amid malnutrition, lack of adequate care, and the severe psychological pressure of living through war.

After all this suffering, our family finally welcomed a baby.

Our baby is now in the first months of life and needs constant care, milk, diapers, and other basic necessities. Unfortunately, these supplies are not always available, and when they are, their prices can be extremely high. At times, we find ourselves unable to provide even the most basic things our baby needs.

Instead of spending our baby's first months in a safe and stable home, we are trying to care for our child and meet their needs while living through war and displacement, while also carrying the responsibility of supporting a large family.

Our Family's Daily Struggle

Every day brings new challenges.

We struggle to provide food, clean water, medicine, baby supplies, and shelter rent. With 15 people depending on the same limited resources, even basic necessities have become a heavy financial burden.

The shelter rent, approximately $1,000 per month, is one of the greatest burdens we face. Our home was destroyed, and losing our current shelter would leave our family with very few options.

Our baby is a great source of hope for us, but caring for a newborn under these circumstances has become extremely difficult.
