Help Mohammad evacuate his family from Kabul

Hi, my name is Rachel and I'm fundraising for my co-worker Mohammad, a young man on my team with who is trying to get his family out of Afghanistan. Mohammad was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and is part of the ethnic minority Hazara, a group who faced deadly persecution under the Taliban government previously and are once again at risk.

Mohammad is a former Interpreter/Translator for the US Army. He worked with various branches of the US Army across Afghanistan starting from Mazar-e Sharif ending to southern provinces of Afghanistan. He came to the US through the SIV Program and is currently living and working in Central PA. In July he travelled to Afghanistan to visit his family and while he was there, Kabul fell to the Taliban. He managed to safely escape on August 18th, but had to leave his parents, two sisters and brother behind.

Mohammad's family is at risk not only for being part of an ethnic minority, but also due to the work he did with the American Military. Additionally, Mohammad's father served in the Afghan Army alongside with the US Army. All of these affiliations pose a significant threat to his family's safety.

In order to help them get out of Afghanistan, Mohammad needs to file for Humanitarian Parole (check out the video above that explains what it is), which will allow them to be safely evacuated to the US. The filing fee per person is $575 (x5 family members = $2,875), which is financially prohibitive for him and his family. The money raise will be paid directly to USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) for his family's application for Humanitarian Parole.

I'm sure many of you have watched the news in horror of what happened in Afghanistan last month and while it is no longer in the news cycles, there are still many people who supported the US over the past 20 years that still need our support. In Judaism (Talmud - Sanhedrin 37a) it is said “Whoever saves a single life is considered by scripture to have saved the whole world." In a time where the world feels like it needs a little saving, help me support Mohammad as he tries to save 5 lives.
