On May 26, Mohammad was rushed to the emergency room after experiencing a severe headache and sudden drooping on the right side of his face. After a CT scan and evaluation, doctors diagnosed him with Bell's Palsy, a neurological condition that causes weakness or paralysis of the facial muscles due to inflammation of the facial nerve.

The condition has affected his ability to close one eye, eat comfortably, and safely perform everyday activities. Because his vision and facial muscles are impacted, driving has become difficult and unsafe while he recovers.

Mohammad works full-time as a Grubhub driver. As an independent contractor, he doesn't receive paid sick leave, disability benefits, or paid time off. Every day he is unable to drive is a day without income.

In addition to being unable to work, Mohammad is now facing medical expenses from his emergency room visit and treatment. He has been prescribed multiple medications and is focusing on rest and recovery so he can heal and return to work safely.

We are hoping to raise funds to help cover his rent for the month, medication and recovery-related expenses, and basic living costs while he is unable to work.

Anyone who knows Mohammad knows that he spends much of his time supporting his community and advocating for justice. Now he is the one who needs support.
