Help Mohammed and his family escape Gaza

Hello my name is Carolina and I’m from Portugal. I’ve been in direct contact with my friend Mohammed Al-Akhras — a brave young man currently living in unimaginable conditions with his family in Gaza.

Mohammed reached out to me for help, and after hearing his story and seeing the reality he and his family face every day, I couldn’t stand still.

I’m organizing this campaign on his behalf, with his full permission and in direct communication with him. All the funds raised will go directly to Mohammed, via bank transfer, to help cover food costs, medicine, and hopefully a safe evacuation from Gaza.

This is about human dignity, survival, and hope.

“My name is Mohammed. I’m 23 years old, a university student from Gaza studying graphic design — or at least, I was, before the war changed everything.

Today, my family and I are living in a shelter school in Khan Yunis, after being displaced from our home in Rafah. We lost everything. There are nine of us — and we are suffering from severe malnutrition, lack of medicine, and constant fear.

Four months ago, I was injured in my left hand during an airstrike. My father was also injured in his leg. He suffers from chronic diabetes and high blood pressure, and without access to proper treatment, his health is deteriorating fast.

As the eldest son, I’ve always taken responsibility for my family. But since the injury, I’ve been unable to work. We rely on aid that barely arrives. The children in our family are going hungry. We live day to day, trying to survive under the threat of continued bombing.

We are raising funds to cover urgent food and medical needs, and most importantly, to evacuate to a safe country where we can rebuild our lives, continue our education, and live without fear.
