Help Moesha, DIVAS Initiative support the children
Hi my name is Terri and I am fundraising for Moesha Kay, who is founder and organizer of the DIVAS Initiative, where she mentors over 3,500 children (and also all ages) in Kenya. Here is the situation and why Moesha is tirelessly caring for so many children and community that deserves so much more in their lives than what they are getting.
Moesha needs to urgently raise funds for DIVAS Initiative because:
1. She was born and raised in a slum so this community is close to her heart where poverty is very high, which has led to many children not being able to attend school because of lack of fees.
2. Hunger has become a major challenge where it has lead to many children dying from hunger and sickness.
3. Lack of affording of medicine that tragically and unnecessarily leads to death in most children and older people.
4. Food, clothes and rent for shelter are always in demand.
5. Moesha really needs to build a safe house for the Orphans of parents who succumb to, or have succumbed to HIV or other reasons.
6. Moesha also wants to run a dance training center where she can teach and empower young children and especially young women and build a dance career like herself - give them skills, hope and direction in life.
Moesha lives within this life every day - when donations are scarce, there is such a challenge as children are often becoming sick because of hunger, or they have to stay at home because of lack of school fees, sometimes death of some because of lack of fees for necessary, life saving medicine.
Firstly we are starting with €1500 and see how it goes. If you think of it, even donating just a tenner each spread across networks will move mountains for this urgent care so please take a few moments to contribute what you feel - children should enjoy their lives not suffer needlessly through it, wondering if they will come out the other side at all.
On top of all this, Moesha is also desperately fundraising to cover radiotherapy costs for her Grandmother who is suffering from Cervical Cancer, which costs 36USD per day for the treatment. Since she found out, she is currently putting most of her earnings towards her treatment right now in order to help save and prolong her life, but when those funds run out, they have to stop the radiotherapy and if they wait too long, it will be like going back to square one.

DIVAS POWER INITIATIVE is an initiative that empower girl child through EDUCATION and TALENT, founded in 2016 by Moesha Kibibi Tajiri a member and the only female in the award winning dance crew called FBI Dance Crew the best dance crew in Kenya since 2012. DIVAS POWER INITIATIVE believes that systemic and enduring change is possible when vulnerable girls are able to initiate and drive theirdevelopment agenda, work with companies,organisations or individuals to be able to make dreams of their education and talent to come true.
DIVAS POWER INITIATIVE therefore invests in enhancing organized community-led initiatives to create a firm basis for sustainable development and social justice.
The unique components of the model are:-
· Capacity building – Empower girls to be organised and to identify their
development priorities. This ensures ownership of the solutions and the
process.
· Continuous Accountability – for the girls to be accountable and transparent to themselves first as owners of their education and talent to bring a change in the society.
