Help Mochi Heal from Life-Saving Surgery
Donation protected
This is Mochi, also known as Mochina in the Gutierrez-Cabin household, and she just gave us the scare of a lifetime by requiring life-saving surgery.
Mochi recently developed pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection. We started noticing her acting a bit off (avoiding food, drinking a ton of water, and other physical symptoms), and she was quickly taken to the vet's office. On the first try, they took bloodwork and sent her back, but she was still acting weird. Through Jaceklynn's advocacy, she was x-rayed and diagnosed. Mochi was not previously spayed because the last 3 times vets tried to put her under, her blood pressure tanked, and they concluded it was too dangerous to continue with the spay.
All of this is important to know because the only cure for pyometra is the removal of the uterus and ovaries! Thankfully, Mochi pulled through in the end - but not before racking up a crazy vet bill.
I'm trying to raise money to cover her vet bills - she is a very special cat and this is nearly two months of pay. If you would consider donating to the cause, Jackelynn and I would be very grateful for your support and I'll send you all of the zoo pictures you could ever want!
