Hi everyone. Our beloved son, Mochi, has been diagnosed with malignant mast cell cancer. It is a cancer that can travel through the lymphatic system and attack the spleen and intestines, eventually leading to death. He was told his cancer has affected his lymph nodes as well as his spleen already, indicating metastasis.

We have started treatment via prescription medications and chemotherapy to help prevent the cancer cells from spreading. However, he still has many hurdles to overcome. The oncologist said Mochi will need surgical intervention followed by additional chemotherapy. Already, we have surgical estimate to be over $3,000
and we have spent over $7500 on specialist appointments, treatments and diagnostic testing already since starting this journey in late July.

As many of you who have met Mochi know, he is absolutely so loving and warms the heart of anyone he meets. He is only 7 years old and has so much more life to live and enjoy. Please help us with however much you can so we can keep up with Mochi’s treatments and get him cancer free. Thank you all so much for your time.

UPDATE 11/2024: Since undergoing chemotherapy, Mochi had emergency surgery due to a complete bladder obstruction. This issue was a side effect from the 4 months of chemo he has been receiving. During the surgery to clear out his bladder of stones, clotted blood, and crystals the surgeons performed a splenectomy as well as lymph node removal. For this surgery alone we had spent about $12,000 that we had to pay using 6 different credit cards as we have already maxed out Mochi’s CareCredit card from previous treatments/appointments. It has been a very difficult time trying to afford the best care for our son. He is slowly but surely recovering. He has faced hurdles as there were mistakes the surgeon had made (made an extra incision due to misjudging where Mochi’s popliteal lymph node was) and poorly placed staples. We are having extra follow ups with his primary care vet to treat his poorly healing incision.
I have added updated photos from the surgery.

Chronological order of photos. Still going through delayed healing
