Help Mocha Fight for His Life
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I never imagined I’d be writing this, but my sweet 7.5-year-old Corgi, Mocha, is fighting for his life, and we need your help.
Last November, Mocha was diagnosed with Protein-Losing Enteropathy (PLE) and severe Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). These conditions have been incredibly difficult to manage, despite months of medications, hospital stays, and constant care. He was first hospitalized for three nights in November, where he fought through his first major crisis. Since then, he has been on steroids and later Atopica, but even with treatment, he has suffered two painful relapses.
A couple of nights ago, Mocha took a turn for the worse. His heart rate skyrocketed to 200, he had a VERY high fever, severe vomiting, abdominal ascites, and bloody diarrhea. He was in so much pain that we rushed him to the hospital, where he was immediately placed on oxygen therapy and an albumin transfusion. Turns out he also has pneumonia but his immune systems were suppressed due to the medication used to treat his PLE and IBD. That is why he had to be hospitalized so that the wonderful doctors at BluePearl Animal Hospital in Kirkland can treat him with antibiotics via IV fluids to help him fight the nasty infection, in addition to help him stay hydrated and fed via the feeding tube.
Why We Need Your Help
The medical bills for Mocha’s hospital stays, medications, and treatments are overwhelming. The two hospitalization and the treatments in the last three months has cost more than $45,000. We want to give him every possible chance to pull through. If you’ve ever met Mocha, you know he’s the sweetest, most loving pup—he’s our family, and we aren’t ready to say goodbye just yet.
We are asking for any amount you can contribute to help cover part of his medical expenses and give him a fighting chance. If you can’t donate, please share Mocha’s story—every share brings him closer to getting the help he needs.
Mocha has always been a fighter, and we are holding onto hope. We want to do everything in our power to help him. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and kindness. Mocha means the world to us, and we are so grateful for any help you can provide.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
With love,
Han, Pan, little Liam, & Mocha
