Moamen's story

My name is Moamen Al-Sousi... and this is my story.

I’m Moamen Al-Sousi, a 28-year-old graphic designer from Gaza. Like many young people, I had dreams of building a stable future, supporting my family, and living with dignity through hard work and creativity.

But the war changed everything.

In a matter of days, I lost my job when the company I worked for was destroyed. Then, our home was reduced to rubble, and my family and I were forced to evacuate and take shelter in one of the overcrowded displacement centers.

Life in the shelter is extremely difficult — a lack of privacy, scarce resources, and no sense of stability. Prices have soared beyond imagination, and with no income, even basic needs like food and water have become a daily struggle.

Despite my own suffering, I chose to give back. During the war, I volunteered in humanitarian efforts inside the shelters — helping organize entertainment activities for displaced children, and participating in vaccination campaigns to protect them during this crisis. I believe every child deserves a moment of joy and a shot at health, even in the darkest times.

Today, I ask for your help — not as charity, but as a chance to rebuild. To restore a broken home, return to work, and stand on my feet again.

اسمي مؤمن السوسي، شاب من قطاع غزة، أبلغ من العمر 28 عاماً. كنت أعمل في مجال التصميم الجرافيكي، وأسعى كغيري من الشباب إلى بناء مستقبل مستقرّ، أعتمد فيه على نفسي، وأقف فيه إلى جانب عائلتي، التي لطالما كانت سندي الأول.

لكن الحرب الأخيرة سرقت كل شيء. في لحظة واحدة، فقدت عملي بعد أن تدمرت الشركة التي كنت أعمل بها، ثم لم تمضِ أيام حتى دُمّر منزلنا بالكامل، واضطررنا للنزوح من بيتنا إلى أحد مراكز الإيواء.

النزوح كان تجربة قاسية بكل ما تحمله الكلمة من معنى. افتقدنا الأمان، الخصوصية، وأبسط مقومات الحياة. أصبحنا نعيش في ظروف صعبة، وسط ازدحام شديد، ونقص حاد في الموارد. ومع ارتفاع الأسعار بشكل جنوني، لم أعد قادراً حتى على توفير أساسيات الحياة، من طعام وشراب ودواء.

ورغم المعاناة، حاولت أن أؤدي دوري الإنساني، وأن أكون عوناً لغيري كما كنت بحاجة لمن يعينني. شاركت في فعاليات إنسانية داخل مراكز الإيواء، خاصة تلك التي استهدفت الأطفال، حيث ساهمت في تنظيم فقرات ترفيهية للتخفيف من معاناتهم، كما تطوّعت في حملات تطعيم الأطفال، إيماناً مني بأن أطفالنا يستحقون الحياة، حتى في أقسى الظروف.

اليوم، لا أطلب الكثير، وإنما أطلب فرصة... أطلب منكم أن تكونوا عوناً لي، كي أستطيع ترميم ما دمرته الحرب، والعودة إلى عملي، وإعالة نفسي وعائلتي، واستعادة شيء من الاستقرار المفقود.

تبرعكم قد يُعيد لي الحياة من جديد. هو رسالة أمل، وسند حقيقي في وقت طغى فيه

الدمار على كل شيء.

Amal's story:

My name is Amal from Gaza.

At the beginning of the war, I left our house with my mother and sisters for fear of bombing, and the next day our house was destroyed, and I lost my father and most of my family.

Since that time we have lost everything: home, stability, and study.

I was an artist and I was in drawing exhibitions, but the war stopped all my dreams and activities.

Today I ask for your support to help my family, complete my studies, and start again after this great loss.

Any small help will make a big difference in our lives.
