Help Mo regain his sight after surviving a shot to the head
Spende geschützt
“Dear Friends,
My name is Mohammed Moshtaha. I am a 23-year-old Palestinian student studying Interior Design. On December 6, 2023, my life changed forever.
That day, the Israeli army invaded our neighborhood in Shujaiya. My family and I fled our home in desperation, seeking safety at Al Shifa hospital. We left with nothing but the clothes on our backs. As my younger siblings cried out in hunger, my friend and I set off to find food and water for them. We had nothing but a horse-drawn carriage as we rode through the chaos.
Suddenly, a drone overhead targeted us. A shot hit me, and in an instant, I was plunged into a world of searing pain and darkness. I couldn’t see. I couldn’t move. Blood covered my face as I collapsed in shock. Gunfire rang out around us, and no one could reach us through the rain of bullets. Crawling, I could only hear the screams and gunshots, not knowing where they were coming from. My friend was killed beside me.
The doctors at Al Shifa managed to save my life, but they couldn't restore my sight. Gaza's hospitals are overwhelmed, and with no resources left, my only hope lies in getting treatment outside of Gaza, where I can receive the urgent care I need to restore my vision.
Before this nightmare, I was just a young man with dreams and a bright future ahead of me. I saw a world full of opportunities. But that world was taken from me in an instant. Now, I’m facing an uncertain future, one where I can’t see the faces of my loved ones or the life I once envisioned.
Yet I refuse to give in to despair. With the strength of my family and community, I’m determined to fight for the chance to regain my sight. I need help to get out of Gaza, to Egypt first, and then to Europe, where specialists can give me the medical care I desperately need.
This journey requires resources my family and I simply don’t have. We are raising funds to cover the costs of my medical transfer, surgery, flights, visas, housing, and the expenses of a family member who will accompany me. Every donation will bring me closer to the chance of living a normal life again after this unimaginable ordeal.
Please, help me correct this injustice. Your support could give me my sight back, my future back, and the chance to reclaim the dreams I thought were lost.
Thank you for standing with me. Your kindness means everything. "

Hi, I am Lucia from Slovakia and Mohammed is my friend. As someone who struggles with hearing difficulties myself, I understand the pain of losing a vital ability. Though my challenges are not as severe as Mohammed's, I can empathise with the frustration and heartbreak of losing something so fundamental. Mohammed's situation is dire—he survived a drone attack and the horrors of genocide. Let's unite to give him a chance to heal and rebuild.
Please join me in helping Mo restore what was unjustly taken from him. Together, we can make this right.
With Gratitude,
Lucia
