On a winter morning that changed our lives forever, my brother Mohamed — known to everyone who loves him simply as Mo — hit a patch of black ice while driving. His car slid uncontrollably and crashed straight into a tree. There were no airbags, and Mo suffered a severe traumatic brain injury.
For two and a half weeks, Mo showed no response. Those days felt like a lifetime. A few days ago, by the grace of God, he opened his eyes for the first time. We thank God every single second for this miracle, but we know this is only the beginning of a very long road.
My parents, Mohamed and Ouafa, and our entire family are living every family’s worst nightmare. Now that Mo has been moved to a rehabilitation center, doctors have told us his recovery could take months — even years. He currently is only able to open his eyes, and we don’t know how much function he will regain, but we have faith and we are not giving up on him.
Tragically, Mo had no health insurance. He was supposed to start a new job the morning after the accident. Because of this, the cost of rehabilitation, therapies, and long-term care will be overwhelming.
We are humbly asking for help — anything you can contribute will go directly toward Mo’s medical care, rehabilitation, and the support he will need to recover.
Mo is a fighter. With your prayers, support, and generosity, we believe he can continue to make progress.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Please keep Mo in your prayers. ❤️
