Hello! I’m Mo, your internet cinephile friend! Last year, I was selected as a finalist for the

Fulbright programme who would assist in funding my education and such. I got accepted into a

university that offers me a spot at a two-year Film Studies Programme with a full tuition waiver

and the opportunity to teach. But, Fulbright, all of a sudden, told me they could not fund me

anymore due to the funding cuts, and I’m left with half hope and half despair. I come from a

failed state with total economic collapse so my savings in devalued currency aren’t sufficient to

cover all of the housing, airfare, living costs and even visa fees.

So I definitely need your help in covering all the costs: the funds will go to my visa fees, a

plane ticket, housing and some money to use before the stipend from my teaching

assistant work at university comes in. I’m running on a tight timeline with no chance to save

money because Fulbright broke the news to me last Friday. There will be only two and a half

months from now on until the visa interview.
