Hi everyone - I’m so sad to be having to do this in such a times like these with recession and high prices and cost of living. But I don’t have a choice.
In short, Mo has had really concerning test results coming back after he went for a simple ear check. His liver enzyme and bile output was 45 when the normal level should be 15. He was put on a very expensive hypoallergenic vet diet and when they tested his bloods again they were actually worse.
he’s already had several blood tests, scans and treatments but they can’t seem to figure out what is wrong - they have said that for a dog his age (1 year) that continuing with this issue could be fatal :( the vets have had to move him on to a specialist as they have run out of options
the specialist want to do a CT scan and some more skin samples - mo has bleeding ear flaps, chronic ear infections and his coat is balding and thin and corse
this will cost 4k and our cover for the year was 4k - we have already used 1.6k on all these tests etc that have come up with nothing
Hes also had issues with parasites such as giardia which has also cost us a lot over the year
he also cannot be neutered until he is ‘fixed’ due to him only having one descended testicle - and any liver issues could cause surgical complications - this means he’s also not allowed at day cares and is interfering with work and social life and just over all not fun for anyone - his ears are also bleeding when on walks as he’s flapping them, so walks are off the table at the moment and my personal mental health is -100
we do know that his condition can be fatal if not treated and the vets can’t suggest anything else at this point
anything you can give we would appreciate so much - thank you thank you thank you xx
