Hi, my name is Nik, and I am fundraising for my classmate and friend MK McCanna.

MK is a bright light in the UMKC School of Dentistry Class of 2025— you can always find her with a positive attitude, ready to help. She was elected Vice President of the class just a few days before she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ependymoma, which is a cancer of the central nervous system. She has been undergoing surgeries at KU in Kansas City and is moving to Chicago to get proton therapy at Northwestern.

She is taking a year off from dental school but plans to join the Class of 2026 in January, with the eventual goal of becoming a pediatric dentist.
