MJ Yoder is a kind, creative, music-loving high school junior. Singing and performing are at the heart of who she is, and her joy lights up every room she enters.

On December 11, 2025, MJ traveled with her parents, Janice and Aaron, to Iowa for surgery related to a Chiari malformation that has caused her daily headaches for years. The surgery itself went well, but shortly afterward, MJ experienced an extremely rare and severe reaction that no one could have anticipated. She was intubated to protect her airway and remained on a breathing tube for thirteen days.

MJ is now breathing on her own, and the family is deeply grateful. At the same time, her recovery will be a long road. As she prepares to come home, the Yoders are facing significant medical bills, ongoing travel back and forth to Iowa, and additional care not fully covered by insurance, including speech therapy, physical therapy, and a specialized diet.
