We are reaching out to ask for your support for an extraordinary young athlete, Miyabi Akiya, as she prepares to represent Australia at the 2025 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Rio. At just 16 years old, Miyabi is already making history. In only her second year as a senior international rhythmic gymnast, she has accomplished what few ever do — earning incredible results for Australia and securing her place as a rising star on the world stage. Miyabi Akiya has remained undefeated at the Australian Championships since 2018, was the 2024 Olympic reserve and is the current National All-Around Champion and gold medalist in 3 of 4 apparatus. At the 2025 Oceania Championships she was the All around Champion, ensuring not only her qualification for World Championships, but also that Australia was able to qualify to take a team and not just an individual.

Miyabi’s dedication is unmatched. She trains up to 24 hours per week, while also managing the demands of studies — a true testament to her discipline, passion, and commitment to excellence. This year alone, she has self-funded over $10,000 in international World Cup assignments, achieving outstanding results and helping to elevate Australia’s presence on the world rhythmic gymnastics scene.

Miyabi is coached by the exceptional Kateryna Logachova, who has trained multiple national champions, two Commonwealth Games medalists, and most recently, Australia’s first-ever finalist at the Junior World Championships. Kateryna has attended international competitions at her own expense, showing unwavering commitment to supporting her athletes.

Representing Australia at the World Championships in Rio comes with a heavy financial burden. The estimated cost for Miyabi and Kateryna to attend is $13,000, covering travel, accommodation, equipment transport, and competition expenses.
