My name is Mitzi, and I'm writing this from a place of vulnerability and hope. On the night of July 14th, my life was turned upside down. Around 10:30 PM, I was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. A car appeared out of nowhere, ran over my right leg, and fled the scene before I could even react.

A friend rushed me to the hospital, where the terrifying reality of my injuries set in. The impact broke bones in my foot, requiring emergency surgery to install two screws to hold them together.

I am 33 years old and have always worked hard to support myself. Now, due to this senseless act, I am unable to work and facing a long road to recovery. The pain from my injury is immense, but it's compounded by the stress and anxiety of not knowing how I will pay my rent or cover my basic living expenses while I heal.
