Help Mitsy's Family Make Rent Between Jobs

Donation protected
In June, my partner (boyfriend) was told he would be losing his job. For privacy's sake, I will not divulge much specific information. It was not due to him being fired or doing poorly at work; his entire team was dropped from a work contract as third-party customer service from a larger company.

His last day of work was in the middle of July, and he has since been working on trying to get another job that matches his skill set. In the meantime, he has been trying to claim his severance from his company, but they tied it in with unemployment. Unemployment has been giving him the runaround and keeps denying his claim even though he is entitled to it for a limited time as per his separation agreement with his job.

He is working on getting the issue hopefully resolved and has spoken with a case worker, but even if everything goes smoothly he will not have income for at least a few weeks.

To make a long story short, he is about to be out of money and doesn't know when he will get the income he is owed. Even when he does, it will be a lot less than what he usually makes. He has monthly expenses/bills that are due soon, most of which are what literally keep a roof over our heads.

I am unable to shoulder the financial burden of all of the house's bills in the meantime, not even for a short while. We thought we had some time to figure things out, but apparently not. We don't even know if he will get paid what he is owed.

And when he does get a new job, he won't be paid right away. I know how these things tend to go—once you get a job, you can expect to wait between 2-4 weeks for your first paycheck.

For now, the goal is at $2k. If the goal is met and he still hasn't gotten his income back on track, I will stack another $2k on top. Hopefully, we won't need any more than that.

His monthly expenses/financial responsiblities:

Lot rent (including water and garbage): $800-$850
Mortgage + Home Insurance: ~$500
Half of Utility Bill: ~$150
Medical Bills: ~$200
Loan Payments: ~$200
