Help Mitchell recover from Rimforest House Fire
Donation protected
Hello all!
Betsy & Jensen here, Mitchell's brother and sister-in-law from Westminster, CO. We have set up this page to assist Mitchel and his girlfriend, Carey Cizek get back on their feet!
Here's a bit about the story:
Mitchell, his girlfriend, his roommate and their dogs settled in for a quiet night at home. Shortly after 7pm on November 4th, 2019, Mitchell jolted out of his seat as he heard a blood curdling scream coming from the main level. As he reached the top of the stairs the smell of smoke and the sting of intense heat hits him. He turns towards the front of the house and it is fully engulfed in flames. They scramble to put it out with an extinguisher, yet it is quickly clear, as the windows literally begin folding in half, melting, that there is no hope. His girlfriend is downstairs calling 911, he rushes to her and they flee, escaping through the back of the house without even time to put on shoes. As they fled the house, the smoke was billowing from the ceiling, with lungs and eyes burning, he suffered 2nd degree burns to the back of his head and ears just from the intense heat coming off the ceiling. While everyone got out safely, the house completely collapsed and is a pile of ruble and ash.
Imagine losing everything you own, every article of clothing and irreplaceable family heirlooms. Please help Mitchell get back on his feet and recover from a total and devastating loss.
The money raised here will go towards rebuilding a life and purchasing the following: replacing clothing, toiletries, household items, furniture, finding a new place to live, money for food, meals and so on. The money will be withdrawn by Carey and given to Mitchell and her to find a new place to live!
