Help Mitch Get Back on His Feet After the Flood
Hey folks,
This isn’t easy to write, but our buddy Mitch Goldman just took a major hit. Over the last few days, storms ripped through the area and left a trail of destruction in their wake. Mitch’s place was one of the hardest hit. As floodwaters surged, they took almost everything in their path.
By the time it peaked, there was water knee-deep in the house and over the hood of Mitch’s truck. Inside that truck? A full work setup: tools, materials, equipment—everything Mitch uses to make a living. Gone. Both of his vehicles? Total losses. And here’s the kicker: insurance won’t cover any of it. Not the tools. Not the materials. Not the vehicles. Mitch is a hands-on guy, and when your tools are your livelihood, losing them hits hard.
WHO IS MITCH?
Mitch isn’t just a skilled tradesman—he’s a lifelong rock and ice climber, someone who’s spent decades pushing himself against the mountains and giving back to the land.
He’s also an environmental steward. Mitch has put in countless unpaid hours improving trails, protecting climbing access, and restoring natural areas—especially near Old Rag, the very area that got hit hardest by this flood. The irony isn’t lost on anyone who knows him: the guy who works to protect the land just had everything he owns swallowed by it.
WHAT WE'RE RAISING MONEY FOR
Here’s a breakdown of what we’re trying to replace:
• Power tools & hand tools – $4,000
(Drills, saws, grinders, wrenches, levels, etc.)
• Tool storage (truck box replacement) – $800
(Water destroyed the current one along with everything inside)
• Building materials lost in the flood – $2,000
(Job-site materials stored in the truck and garage)
• Work truck down payment / recovery – $6,000
(He needs reliable wheels to get back to work)
• Car replacement (for personal use) – $3,500
(The Prius was totaled and not covered)
• Cleanup, PPE & recovery gear – $700
(Fans, pumps, gloves, masks, etc.)

Fundraising Total Goal: $7,500
This is what it’ll take to get Mitch back in the game—on the road, back to work, and rebuilding his life. Mitch isn’t the kind of guy to ask for help, so I’m asking for him. If you can chip in—whether it’s $10 or $1,000—it all goes toward helping a good man get back on solid ground.
Let’s show up for him like he’s shown up for others. And if you can’t donate, a share goes a long way.
Thanks for having his back.
