This year for my birthday, I want to raise money to help my friend Mitch. He is one of those all-too-common victims of our messed-up insurance system. He desperately needs a medical procedure he cannot afford, despite having health insurance and working full-time. He is a heck of a nice guy and deserves a break.

“After 30 years of tennis , I have a slipped disc rubbing against the nerves. I need a Spinal Cortisone shot that my insurance is denying, and I lost the appeal. The shot takes me out of pain for over 2 years, and without it, life is really challenging! The procedure is $2200 because they have to put you out for the injection, plus I will need to take some time off work.”
