Help Azi & Kaoru Pay Bills & off Debts.

PLEASE READ THE UPDATES SECTION FOR UP TO DATE STATUS
Hey, it's me again, Azi.
For those who don't know, I am a trans-nonbinary, disabled, autistic citizen of SW MO. I have been unemployed for 2 years and have not yet been approved for Social Security.

I previously asked for help here for paying monthly expenses, due to the lack of income, over the past 6 or so months, as well as had the "goal" for paying off past debts.

However, despite the generous support, we barely survived till September, and even with pandemic-based rental assistance, in subsidized housing no-less, we have not been able to meet our monthly expenses.

The gist:
  • AS OF FEBRUARY 16TH 2022, MY PARTNER IS MOSTLY UNEMPLOYED... — My partner made less than $8K a year. — For a household of 2, this places us at merely 15% of the area median income. – For reference, to qualify for Section 8, the low-income ceiling is $26K annually.
  • Our monthly expenses are around $756/mo., including rent.
  • I am physically disabled, and unable to work myself.
  • The Social Security Administration has frequently denied my disability, due to my young age. (no joke.)
  • I am waiting on a hearing, and have retained a lawyer (free of charge unless I win).

Now here's where things get worse:
  • In December 2019, I quit my job, as working had greatly accelerated the physical effects of my disability, making it impossible to continue.
  • Before I quit, earlier that year, I had financed things I had needed, as I could, at the time, afford the monthly payments.
  • Despite the pandemic, creditors refused to apply various covid relief programs they advertised.
  • In March of 2020, we moved out of our old apartment into low-income housing. Not only did they keep our deposit, they charged us another month's rent, and turned us over collections.
  • I also have not been able to afford property taxes on my vehicle, which we need where we live.

...and, as of this week, at least one of my debts has entered an accelerated repayment timescale. If I do not start making payments within the next 6 months, they will take legal action.

Furthermore, the collection agency for our old apartment is threatening legal action if we do not pay what they say we owe. — I could not even afford to respond to their letter with a dispute, in the required time, as they did not prepay postage for their return envelope.

I am scared. I have no money. I have few resources. No one is willing to "wait" for my social security, and the SSA is making it a nightmare to obtain. (Soonest estimate is a hearing in June 2022...)

My partner can barely carry himself, let alone the both of us.

I need help. And fast.

The Breakdown
  • With 2 years worth of interest, the cost of the debt specifically in accelerated repayment is $2300
  • The "backrent + fees" is $610
  • 3 Years of personal property taxes is estimated to be $1500, judging by the first year. — this is liable to change.
  • About 6 months expenses comes to $4536

Padding for fees related to gofundme, our base goal amount is now $10,000. — If more debts go into accelerated repayment, I will update the amount here.

I am out of options. Potential sources of income keep getting delayed, and everything is accelerating into repayment in the new year.

Please share this with your friends, donate if you can. I don't know what to do.
