I'm Misty Rayburn, Brandon Cole's fiance. Brandon was a pillar in the accessibility community. His tireless fight for the blind to be able to play video games has inspired many others to not only fight for the cause, but to make their own games accessible. I was lucky enough for almost 20 years to not only be by his side as his partner but be by his side in that fight. I always had faith in Brandon, I went into debt several times sending him out to places to do talks, panels and to spread his message.

When work got slow in January of this year, we thought it was the same old song and dance. Put our bills and groceries on our charge cards and pay them off as we could. Just stay afloat until things got better. Then Brandon got diagnosed with Melanoma in April. He fought hard but the Melanoma took him in less than 3 months, it was just too aggressive for even our own superblindman to overcome.

Brandon left this world on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 leaving me with quite a bit of debt on our credit cards and payment 9 of 24 on his iphone on my account. To top it all off, my renters abandoned my rental property without paying their rent for two months and leaving me responsible for a water bill and a half. They didn't even tell me they were leaving. We just found the house vacant last week. I didn't tell Brandon, I felt he needed to focus on his fight at the time.

So now I'm stuck and until I get the house cleaned out and repairs made, I can't get new renters to move in. I have no income and I've tried for years to find employment but nobody will hire me due to my spine issues and doctor enforced requirements to keep me from causing further injuries. I'm going to do a few streams on twitch. If you'd rather contribute there please do.

I'm used to being the supporter, not the supported. However, even I must swallow my pride and ask help from our friends, co-workers and anyone else who wishes to help.
