Help Misty Focus on Healing

“To live for the hope of it all.”

If you know Misty, you know she’s always been someone who gives that hope to others - the one with the generous heart who shows up, supports, and takes care of those around her. Now, she needs that same support.

Misty was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer in February 2026, just as she started a new job. Her cancer is triple positive (ER+, PR+, HER2+) which is known to grow and spread rapidly. Since then, everything has moved quickly. Her medical team began treatment right away, and she is now undergoing chemotherapy every three weeks, with treatment expected to continue through August 2026. At that point, additional scans and bloodwork will determine exact next steps, which will include surgery (likely a double mastectomy), radiation, or other therapies.

While Misty continues to face this with incredible strength and positivity, chemotherapy has taken a real toll. After each treatment, she often feels very ill for up to a week, making it extremely difficult to balance recovery with the demands of a new job. This is a chapter she didn’t choose—but she’s facing it with quiet courage.

Like so many, Misty is navigating the reality that healthcare and income are closely tied to employment. She is currently exploring options like FMLA or short-term disability, but there may still be gaps that create financial stress during an already overwhelming time. This is where we can come together. Because while Misty may be strong enough to “tolerate it” (Taylor swift reference), she shouldn’t have to do this alone.

Our goal is to give Misty the ability to take the time she needs to focus on what matters most right now - healing. Funds raised will help cover living expenses, medical costs, and provide breathing room so she can prioritize her health without the added pressure of finances.

We are so grateful that Misty is surrounded by love, from her supportive husband Darrin to her stepdaughters Morgan and Payton. But anyone who knows Misty day-to-day knows that she lives for her relationship with her 3 year old granddaughter Brooklyn who is as she says in her own words, “my favorite person in the whole world. Just ask her… she will tell you! When we FaceTime she says ‘Mimi?’ and when I ask ‘what?’ she will say ‘am I your favorite person in the whole entire world?’ and I say ‘yes, you are!’”
