Help Misti get back on her feet

Our amazing sister-in-law, Misti, lives life with one saying : “No Excuses”. She not only preaches this mantra to her fitness clients, but lives it herself as she dedicates her life to her family, friends, and multiple businesses. Last week, Misti blacked out and sustained serious injuries to her heart, brain, liver, and kidneys due to lack of oxygen for an extended period of time. She has also lost mobility and feeling in her right leg due to muscle death and nerve damage.

Misti was put into a medically induced coma, and doctors were not positive she was going to pull through. Friday morning, they woke her up to find a miracle: Misti was able to open and close her eyes on command, squeeze her hands, wiggle her toes, and give a thumbs up. Her memory and speech seem well intact.

She has been diagnosed with acute kidney failure and she is on dialysis every other day. Her leg still lacks function, and has severe nerve pain. She is currently in physical therapy to regain feeling and movement in her leg.

Misti is still living her mantra, “no excuses”. She continues to amaze doctors and nurses with her fight to recover, but it will be a long, long road to recovery. Jake is taking unpaid leave from work to be with his love and help her in any way he can, as he is needed in the therapy process.
