My sweet dachshund, Missy, is only 4 years old and has been part of my family since she was a tiny puppy. She has always been full of energy and love, but recently everything has changed.

Just a few days ago, Missy began having pain when using the bathroom. Sadly, her condition has gotten worse very quickly, and now she is unable to use her back legs. After seeing the vet, we learned that she has a slipped disc in her spine. To give her the best chance at recovery, she urgently needs an MRI and surgery.

Without this surgery, Missy will lose the ability to walk permanently and may no longer be able to control her bladder or bowel movements. Right now, she is on pain medication and steroids, but these are only temporary measures—they won’t stop the condition from progressing.

I am completely heartbroken. Missy means the world to me, and I cannot imagine losing her or being forced to put her down simply because I cannot afford the care she needs. This surgery would give her the chance to live a full, happy life again—free of pain and able to walk, play, and cuddle like she always has.
