The world needs more hope and positivity, doesn’t it? Hey guys, my name is Missy, and I’m a 36 year old in recovery who wants to share my message of hope, joy, recovery and redemption with the world. I have an incredible opportunity to go to Santa Barbara, California to participate in the filmed roundtable discussion on the Whatever Podcast. This is a huge opportunity, not just for me, but to share some hope and positivity with the viewers and the world. Considering this show is broadcast on YouTube and other platforms, you never know who I might help by sharing my mistakes, struggled and stories.

The Whatever Podcast has a massive audience and video clips from the podcast are constantly going viral. I want to join the riveting discussion as a political moderate to challenge both sides of the argument, both the left and the right leaning guests. I want to use my experience as someone who has overcome addiction, trauma and mental health issues to encourage young people today that they too can change their lives for the better. I want to discuss my poor decisions and the consequences that came along with those to help prevent more young people from falling down that path.

I also want to challenge the hosts because while I do feel they are pointing out many important issues, they may inadvertently be contributing to more hopelessness in young people today by never talking about how people can and do change for the better, and how those who make bad decisions can redeem themselves.

To answer a few common questions:

1) The show is filmed, it’s not just audio and that’s why I have to go there in person.

2) The show does not pay for any guest’s travel expenses. I am a total unknown so that’s why they would definitely not be paying for my expenses.

3) The flight is close to $1000, plus there will be hotel costs.

4) I am contributing to as much of the cost as I can, this GoFundMe is just available for any of my friends, family and followers who may want to help support me getting there.

5) Super importantly, this is NOT a vacation. I work two jobs and I have responsibilities so I am going only for two-three days to allow for travel time, the day of filming and some rest.
