I started this GoFundMe because my precious 10-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Missy, is very sick. In December, she was diagnosed with Cushings Disease and seizures. Our vet kept her for two nights, providing IV fluids, IV medications, shots, x-rays, an abdominal ultrasound, full blood panels, and other procedures. Missy was put on medication for both Cushings and seizures, and for a while, she was doing great. But over the past two weeks, her health has taken a turn for the worse.
Tonight, we had to rush Missy to the vet again. Her red blood count is dangerously low (seveely anemic) and she needs a blood transfusion. The vet suspects she may have a tumor in her abdomen or internal bleeding, so they want to do more x-rays, ultrasounds, blood matching, and additional tests. Missy will also be tested for Addison's disease, which is common in dogs with Cushings. She is not just a pet—Missy is my baby and Katy's Autism support animal. The emotional support she provides to our family is irreplaceable.
We have already spent nearly all of our savings on Missy's care since her diagnosis in December and January. Now, we simply don't have the funds for the urgent treatments she needs as we thought things were under control. Thank you for taking the time to read Missy's story. My family and I deeply appreciate any support you can offer to help us care for her. Sharing is a huge way to support
