Missy has been my service animal and my constant companion since she was just four months old. We have been together every day, except for one difficult month when I was hospitalized with severe burns from an explosion three years ago. She sleeps nose to nose with me every night, and her presence brings me comfort and strength.

Two weeks ago, I noticed swelling on the right side of Missy's mouth. At first, I hoped it was just an abscessed tooth, but the vet gave us heartbreaking news: Missy has cancer. She now needs surgery, follow-up treatments, medications, and special foods to help her recover. As someone living on a very fixed income, I simply cannot afford these unexpected and overwhelming vet bills on my own.
