On February 26, 2020, 7:36 pm, my family was among those devastated by the fire in Suba Cebu City, Philippines. My Mother was startled by cries of fire and grabbed my nephew, Mars (7) and immediately left the house while leaving everything else behind.

She and Mars ran through smoke a few doors down to my sister Romelyn’s house which was also engulfed in flames. Thankfully, all of her grandchildren, Jeleah (4), Jasper (12) and Jesnyl  (2) were safe from the fire.

The fire  was started by a wiring problem and affected 311 homes and were completely destroyed, displacing 638 families and 2,851 people. 

I am Raising $30,000 for my family to help rebuild one of the houses or provide permanent housing for them as well as provide clothing, temporary shelter, and necessities for these 9 people as they seek to rebuild their lives. 

Any money raised over the goal will be used to help my family’s neighbors.

I am originally from Cebu City, Philippines.
I’m in the United States and have been living here for almost 5 years with my husband and daughter.  

The people that we are trying to help are my mother and sisters and their families.

We are trying to aid them with;

1. Helping them with housing as much as possible.
              a. Which includes utilities, necessary appliances and
                    necessary furnishings to be able to have and dwell in a home.
2. Clothing
3. Miscellaneous essentials that arise due to the unique situation that they are facing.

We are going to move the money to our checking account and when it makes sense, we are going to send the money to my sister’s bank account in the Philippines and
we use xoom to transfer the funds.
