Hi everyone!

Some of you might know me, this is Brandon, Miss Janie's youngest son. We recently just finished a trip of moving my Mom from Mulege, MX to San Antonio, TX. (That's about 1700 miles.)

March of 2020, my Mom was making a big change in her life and was moving to another state, but then COVID hit. Since my Mom is over 70, she is considered an at-risk individual, so she went with my brother Randy down to Mulege, MX to hide out. After spending a year waiting for the situation to improve and spending the last of her savings on survival, unable to work, my Mom was vaccinated and ready to get back to teaching as a preschool teacher.

On this epic journey of returning to the states, disaster struck. The car that had valiantly delivered her from Mexico had run into some issues. After being stranded in the desert for hours and getting a bit cooked by the sun, we were able to get the car to a mechanic.

Exhausted and feeling like burnt toast, we were stretched thin. With some help from the family we were able to borrow money we didn't have to get the costs covered. We lost time and money to this and we did our best to finally get my Mom to her destination of San Antonio, TX.

My Mom is trying to restart her life after it was derailed. She's eager to return back to her calling which is teaching and making a difference in children's lives. But her funds have been stretched to their limits and now she's worried about her future.
