Help Miss Batman fight Cancer

My name is Nicolas Heilman and I am writing on behalf of my wife Mason Batman (yes her last name is Batman). We are located in Wisconsin and would love any support we can receive.

Our story starts back in May of 2021 when Mason noticed a small lump in her calf muscle, a lump no bigger than a marble. We dismissed the unique bubble and believed it was either a cyst or a muscle knot. Life went on, and we got married in June. After a few more months we noticed the mass was increasing in size, but still we dismissed the idea that it could be anything horrible. It wasn't until October when Mason had a checkup with her doctor that we wanted to mention it. After a biopsy and scans on her leg it turns out it was a form of cancer called a sarcoma.

Mason's sarcoma is one of the rarest forms. CIC-DUX4 rearranged sarcoma is the name and it is an aggressive cancer that CAN be resistant to both chemotherapy and radiation, but that doesn't mean that we can't be aggressive too. Starting on December 27th she will begin her intense chemo regime that entails about 1 year of treatment, and a surgery so far. We are a positive couple and believe that we, especially her can get through anything. Cancer doesn't have anything on us! But that doesn't mean that we don't need help.

Its hard to admit, but we do need help. If that means covering the cost of her wig to make up for her beautiful red hair, or to freeze her eggs in the chance that she won't be able to produce anymore. It would also cover the cost of traveling to clinics outside that state such as Cleveland clinic and Mayo. Your support will also help cover the cost of any diet or even help us with rent when one of us can't work anymore. I know it's alot to ask, but I know with the support of friends and family we can beat this and anything else that gets thrown out way. 

Another note to add is that Mason is a hard working full time student with a part time job. She graduates this month with her bachelor's in psychology and was enrolled in her master's program in counseling, but now must defer a year. We now have to put our life on pause for the next year. It's a tough road, but we will get through this!
