Help Miss Amelia's Daycare Get Licensed
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Amelia Roy, and I’m the owner of Miss Amelia’s Daycare. Currently, I serve 2 kiddos as a legally unlicensed daycare. I am working on obtaining my Maine state childcare license in order to serve more families, helping to cut down on the childcare crisis that our area is suffering.
As I’m sure many of you know, daycares (along with all other businesses) have a very high start-up cost. Supplies, toys, home updates, networking, etc., all come at a high price. Yes, there are funds available through the state and other outside entities for childcare; however, there are ZERO funds available for those who are not already licensed. I have been working on becoming licensed for over a year now but have run into some bumps in the road due to my house needing a few small updates. Some of these things include:
- adding an egress window to the playroom
- fixing the small porch railings to be up to code
- adding interconnected smoke detectors to the main floor
- minor wiring in the basement (new junction boxes and such)
With that being said, all of this comes at a high price. While I have a goal of $6,000 in total, ANY bit helps. All funds donated will be used towards fixing the issues in the home, and anything left over will be used for supplies like toys, climbers, and anything to improve the kiddos’ experience here at Miss Amelia’s Daycare.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for every little bit of help. - Miss Amelia
