Misha had her right eye removed in January of 2023 due to glaucoma complications. At the end of November of 2025, her ophthalmologist found a tumor in her left eye, so her dogtor and I (Misha’s pawrent, Stevie) decided that a laser removal of the tumor was the best bet, side effects included…but the side effects won the battle. Misha had the laser surgery on Monday, January 5, but five days later, Misha stopped making eye contact with me, started squinting, and then eventually kept her eye shut because the pressure in her eye was so painful. Monday, January 12 was Misha’s post-op recheck, and things did not look good. Her pressure, which should be between 10-20, was at 78. Misha’s ophthalmologist advised me that removal was the best path to pain relief and to avoid spending (big) money over and over on fluid drainage from the eye - which was highly likely to not work as a permanent solution. So…we decided right there and then that she should go into surgery to remove the eye. I brought her home that afternoon (I am writing this message the day after), and it was a rough night, but she stayed close to me. Her dogtor and I are optimistic about her recovery, since she did so well after her right eye was removed. But, I am not so optimistic about paying off this $2,200 surgery by February 2nd. I’m self employed, and I haven’t been able to have a savings account since 2019. The only way I was able to pay for her previous laser surgery was because back in December, I was in an accident that totaled my car and I got a refund check from my insurance company. I am asking for help because I have nothing I can put towards this bill, and because I also need help getting the proper equipment Misha will need to navigate her world without sight. She is my whole heart, my baby….I very humbly ask that you consider donating to our fundraiser <3
