Help Miru Get Breast Reduction Surgery
Donation protected
My dear friend, Miru Yogarajah, is seeking funds to receive breast reduction surgery. While they are a qualified candidate for the surgery, the removal of the auxiliary tails of the breast is not covered by provincial health insurance. They will be reducing their breast size from 30F to a 34B/30D-cup and wishes to have a complete surgery that will help them feel most comfortable with themself.
In April 2020, Miru shaved their head and that was the first undoing in many ways. Over the course of the pandemic, they have explored their gender identity and learned that they felt most free as a non-binary person wearing clothes that did not cling to their body. As someone with large breasts, this proved to be quite difficult and resulted in significant personal distress. Their breast reduction surgery with the removal of the auxiliary tails will help Miru feel more affirmed and comfortable in their gender expression.
They have written about their evolving relationship to their gender here: https://wearyourvoicemag.com/how-a-pandemic-helped-me-come-into-my-gender-identity/
The cost of the surgery to remove the auxiliary tails of the breast is $3,277 CAD. Presently, Miru works full-time in addition to freelance work which enables them to pay rent, buy groceries, and meet other basic living expenses. They do not receive financial support from their family and have significant student loans. I am hoping to raise funds for Miru to receive the surgery they need through community support. Please give if you can or share with your personal network.

Their surgery is scheduled for May 2021, so they would require the necessary funds within the next month. I believe this is possible.
Miru is a gift to this world and they should be able to be in their body in a way that is personally liberating. Please give if you can.
