With no other option, I came to New York to start over. For five months, I lived in a shelter. It was a challenging and humbling time, but thanks to perseverance and faith, I’ve recently moved into my own apartment.

The truth is, I’m starting completely from scratch. I don’t have furniture, household essentials, or the stability I need to feel settled. On top of that, I’m also fighting cancer. It hasn’t been easy, but I refuse to give up—I’m determined to rebuild my life and keep moving forward.

Mi nombre es Miridia, y hoy quiero compartir mi historia en uno de los momentos más difíciles de mi vida. Este año lo perdí todo en la Florida—mi hogar, mi carro y mi trabajo. Sin otra opción, vine a Nueva York a comenzar de nuevo. Durante cinco meses viví en un refugio. Fue un tiempo muy difícil y de mucha humildad, pero gracias a la perseverancia y la fe, recientemente logré mudarme a mi propio apartamento.
