Help Miriam reunite with her fiancé in the US!
Hello,
My name is Daniel, and I am the founder of an incredible movement, whose purpose is to help reunite separated American and Filipino couples that have filed for the K-1 Visa Petition for Alien Fiancé. Due to COVID-19, legal immigration processing around the world has been sent into chaos. Many couples around the world have been severely delayed due to the government agencies from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of State (DOS) not resuming routine visa services at the National Visa Center (NVC) and the United States Embassy.
The group's creation started after I began research of ways to reunite with my own love of my life, Marianne. During my research, I came across recently won litigation under Milligan v. Pompeo, which challenged the Department of State and won their case, and helped bring loved ones around the world together, once again. The lawyers who successfully litigated that case stated that they would entertain taking other cases that were seeking to target individual problematic consulates -- in our case, the United States Embassy in Manila.
After listening to the lawyers say they would take a case, I became incredibly motivated in February, 2021, and sprung into action. I sought out as many serious and willing couples who would be willing to join this potential lawsuit against the Embassy in Manila. Miriam was one of those first initial group of people to join the group. Her relationship with her fiancé, like mine, was also stuck and we quickly bonded, as I enjoyed her positive outlook and determination in reuniting with her loved one. Miriam greatly assisted me by spreading the word to more and more people throughout this time, and soon, our small group grew to 35 members.
At this time, I approached the Immpact Litigation team (same lawyers who won the Milligan case), who stated that if they were to do a group lawsuit against the Embassy in Manila, they would need at least 100 couples to proceed. We continued to spread the word, and eventually the lawyers created an official onboarding page for our group to register, with a deadline of Monday, April 5th, 2021 and a registration fee of $2,500 per couple.
With the exciting news of the lawyers creating an onboarding page, I soon found out that due to financial reasons and career changes, Miriam and her fiancé would be unable to join the lawsuit with us. Despite not being able to join, she committed that she would continue to spread the word so she could help other couples around the world reunite. On Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, we succeeded in hitting our goal of at least 100 registered couples (with over 600 people in the Facebook group), and the attorneys will officially take the case and represent our group.
But now, I feel it is time to help Miriam and pay her back for all of her efforts to make this movement successful. I cannot emphasize how much Miriam has helped us all with this group's mission, as she would spend long hours communicating to her fellow Filipinas, and convince them that this is a legitimate opportunity to help reunite them with their loved ones. Just recently, I also discovered that she was instrumental in spreading the word of the Milligan v. Pompeo onboarding for Round 1 and Round 2 plaintiffs, which ultimately led to success and loved ones being reunited. In summary, she has been here from the beginning helping people, and has always had a cheerful attitude while doing so.
While there are no guarantees that this lawsuit will succeed in our goals, we all remain cautiously optimistic. However, the cost of joining the lawsuit is very high to many couples, and while some of us are fortunately blessed and able to afford the cost of joining it, that should not separate true love! So for this reason, I ask you to find it in your heart to help someone who truly could benefit from your donation, and help Miriam succeed in her dream to reunite with her future husband.
Thank you and God bless,
Daniel and Marianne
