Help Miri Fight Osteosarcoma

Today, I am reaching out to share a story that has touched the lives of many - the story of Miri Nakamura, a brave soul battling Osteosarcoma.

Miri, a vibrant and resilient individual that just turned 21, has been facing the challenges of Osteosarcoma with incredible strength and determination. She started to feel pain in March 2023 this year and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in June. Within 2weeks after the diagnosis, she was transferred to hospital in Japan from Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her journey has been marked by countless medical procedures, treatments, surgical procedure which removed a huge area of her leg bones and replaced it with titanium and the unwavering support from her families in Japan and US. Yet, the financial burden associated with her medical expenses has been overwhelming. Her mother Mitsuko needs to stay in Washington in order for her to continue working to support her medical and living costs. She flies back and forth to support Miri in this journey.

As we come together in the spirit of community

and compassion, I am excited to announce the launch of a GoFundMe campaign dedicated to supporting Miri's medical journey. Our goal is to alleviate the financial stress that comes with fighting a battle against Osteosarcoma, allowing Miri to focus on her health and recovery. We hope to raise fund so we can purchase C-Brace so she can walk again and hopefully run so she can join marathon which was her passion.

勇敢な魂、中村美莉さんの物語です。手術後わずか3日で21歳の誕生日を迎えた、元気で回復力のあるミリさんは、驚異的な強さと決意で骨肉腫の困難に立ち向かっています。今年の3月に痛みを感じ、6月に骨肉腫と診断され、診断から2週間も経たないうちにシアトル小児病院から日本の病院に転院。美莉さんの挑戦は、医療処置、治療、足の骨の大部分を切除してチタンに置き換える手術、そして日米の家族からの揺るぎないサポートに支えられました。医療費に伴う経済的な負担も軽くありませんでした。母親の満子さんはワシントン州での仕事を続け、美莉さんのそばにいるために何度も飛行機を往復しています。
