Hi, my name is Raj, otherwise known as therajmahal2 on platforms like Twitch. I have been a supporter of the Twitch music community for a few years now, and I love instrumental piano.
Miri Lee, otherwise known as PianistMiri, came to Twitch as the pandemic began to try to recover some of the losses incurred by shutdowns. Miri has warmed the hearts of many, now rising to just over 14,000 followers on Twitch (twitch.tv/pianistmiri).
Miri is a professional concert pianist, but she is also an amazing composer and arranger. Her arrangements of pop music are legendary to her loyal followers.
Still, there is room for growth and that growth requires a capital investment, which is the purpose of this GoFundMe. We are attempting to raise funds for Miri to give her opportunities to expand into additional genres, work more efficiently so she can do more composing and arranging and also take that work with her on the road should Miri be traveling for work.
For those reasons, we are raising capital for:
- A Roland Fantom 8 Digital Synthesizer / Workstation
- A stand designed for use with the Roland Fantom 8
- A semi-rigid case with wheels to transport the Roland Fantom 8
- The 3 pedal acoustic grand piano accessory for the Roland Fantom 8
- Performance Warranty that includes Heavy Use Coverage for Professional Musicians
At the time of creating this GoFundMe, the total cost in Canadian Dollars from an authorized Roland retailer in Canada, including taxes and shipping, is roughly $8,500 CAD. An anonymous donor has agreed to match any donations that come in, so we need to raise half that, or $4,250 CAD.
At the moment, $8,500 CAD translates to just over $6,200, so we need to raise roughly $3,100 USD, and the anonymous donor will match that $3,100. Curreny exchange rates fluctuate, so the necessary amount may swing back and forth a bit.
Anything above and beyond the price of the equipment and warranties will be given to Miri as a cash donation.
