My younger sister Miranda is a student at the University of Iowa, working hard toward her dream of becoming a physician assistant. Tragically, she was a bystander during a fight that broke out at the Ped Mall in Iowa City, Iowa. Shots were fired into the crowd she was part of, and Miranda suffered a gunshot wound to the head. She has been in the ICU in critical condition for over a week, and our family has been by her side every day, hoping and praying for her recovery.

Miranda has already undergone one surgery and will be going into another tomorrow. The funds raised here will go directly toward her hospital bills, rehabilitation, after care, and the ongoing medical expenses that come with such a traumatic injury. She is still in the hospital, and we know there will be many challenges ahead as she works to recover.
