Hi, my name is Amber. My husband Johnny is a disabled military veteran, I have had to become a stay at home mom. Our son Anthonie is 15 years old and our daughter Miranda is 10.
Miranda has been sick for a couple of months. From strep to the common cold and from the flu to what they thought would be mononucleosis. But on November 29, 2022, we received the heartbreaking news. The blood work came back that Miranda did not have mono but something every family hopes to never hear. Miranda was diagnosed with cancer.
We were told to head to Arkansas Children's Hospital for further tests and be prepared to stay a couple days. The test confirmed Miranda had a type of Leukemia called AML. Our couple day stay at the hospital turned into being told we would be there about 30 days and she would begin her first round of chemo. Miranda would have to endure 5 rounds of chemo as initial treatment for her new cancer diagnosis.
We are fortunate enough to be able to stay at the hospital with Miranda during this scary time. We have another child, Anthonie, we are still caring for and having to make trips back home several times a week to care for him and our dogs.
If you feel led please donate to help out with gas, additional items to keep Miranda entertained as she is cooped up in her hospital room, as well as food, and other expenses that may arise.
Any donations are appreciated and help us focus on Miranda's battle with cancer. To pay it forward, any leftover funds will be donated to fund childhood cancer research.
