Help Mira Art Studio rent a Studio

LET ME START WITH: PLEASE DON’T DONATE MORE THAN €5 or €10,- euro’s!

As a lot of you know I am trying to make my dream come true in Spain. And the last year has been hard, but manageable.

After working in an office for 22 years, I have decided to follow my dream. And that dream is coming true, sort of...

I am a full time Resin Artis at the moment. My paintings are getting sold more and more. Which is great! But unfortunately the current way of me working will not get me where I want to go. As my space (studio) is limited, I can create one big, maybe two smaller pieces a day.

But my dream is to create large pieces! And for that I need space. I have been trying to work it out myself, but unfortunately I have to be honest that I cannot make it work on my own. That's why I am asking you for help! I have noticed that my art is more difficult to sell online, as the charm to my paintings is the shine, the gloss and the size. Online that is hard to see, but also not as impressive and magical as it really is. So I need to scale up, if I want to make this work. Of course I could go back to the office and work a 9-5 job, but that would be my worst nightmare to be honest.

My goals:

*Finding a studio/space that has the ability to have other creative people enjoy too. Think of small concerts on Friday afternoon, while someone is drawing in the corner. 

*Finding a studio that is big enough for me to create large pieces.

*Finding a studio that gives me the possibilities to film my online courses for people all around the world. So there finally be an online platform for those who seek information. All in one spot. 

*Finding a studio that has space to do live workshops.So that other people will be able to start a small business too. The unemployment number is sky high in Spain. 

And I have found the perfect location right here in the city center of Barcelona. It is a studio completely renovated but still with all the old details. It is in one of the most trendy art barrio's of Barcelona, Born. Please look at the pictures for more details.

So why do I need your help? I have negotiated the rent price, and the rent price for the first year is €600,- a month. Which is a bargain, in down town Barcelona to be honest. I also negotiated that I will not need to pay an agency fee, which normally is around 10% of the annual rent, excl VAT/BTW.

But to be able to rent it for that price, I need to pay one year in advance.

Also a big cost center will be the air purifyer I need to work in a large space, so my resin art will not have dust or other debris in them and to keep the chemicals not filling up the air in the space. For a space of 50 m2, I will need to buy a machine and that will cost me around €2000,-.

Further more I will need to decorate the shop and buy a shop inventory. What will cost me around €1000,-.

So the total of my start up will be: €10.000,-. Which is a huge amount, I agree. But I still hope that you will be willing to help me out. Even if it's with small amounts. A lot of small amounts will become a big pile too.

All support from €50,- to €100,- will receive a resin painting 30 cm.

All support from €100,- to €200,- will receive a resin painting 50 cm.

All support from €200, to €500,- will receive a resin painting 70 cm.

All support from €500,- to €1000,- will receive a resin painting 100 cm.

All support from €1000,- and up... will be loved for ever by me and have a free choice of size!

I feel weird and ashamed asking you for money, but to make your dream come true, you have to go far and beyond. Especially when you can help other people with it too. I hope to create a warm welcome to multiple and different kind of creative people.
