Help Minority Owned Vandalized Salon
Dear Grand Rapids Community. Our friend Paloma Maldonado owner of Pure Vanity Salon needs our help. She’s been a stylist for many years and a contributor to our community.
The world has been hit with a virus that destroyed our economy and small business owners have been struggling to rebuild and get back on their feet. Because of COVID19 she had to close her doors forcing Paloma to seek other forms of income. Unfortunately that isn’t enough to cover household expenses and now the expenses to repair a salon that she worked her entire life for. This salon is a reflection of the blood, sweat, tears and countless sacrifices she has made. Everything she has done has been with a purpose to give her three boys and family a better life.
Pure vanity was set to re open this spring as the salon was gearing up to welcome customers with updated guidelines from the govenor, George Floyd was murdered and everything changed overnight.
Last night Pure Vanity Salon was vandalized and there was an attempt to set fire. A call that Paloma was dreading to receive. This is a minority Hispanic owned business that is left trying to pick up the pieces amidst mourning with the community.
Anything you can donate to help Paloma with her Salon would be truly appreciated and a blessing. Thank you for standing up for what’s right and for helping small business owners like Pure Vanity Salon.
Blessings to all.
