Help Minnie With Her Cancer Treatment Costs

Donation protected
Hi folks,

Thank you for clicking onto this page. We are a group of friends from the LAMDA Foundation and our best friend Minnie has Stage 4 Metastatic Bowl Cancer. She urgently needs to begin treatment to stop the growth of the tumours but the NHS won’t cover the costs. On behalf of Minnie, and all of us who love her so much, anything you can give will make a world of difference.

Minnie.
Minnie is sunshine in human form. She is a brilliant friend and an absolute powerhouse on the dance floor. In 2022, just after graduating from RADA she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Bowel cancer. She learnt that it had spread to her liver, lungs, and paraortic compartment.

After surgery and 40 rounds of strong chemotherapy she has remained disease free everywhere apart from her lungs.
She was told that her chemo was no longer controlling the cancer in the thoracic region back in January this year. Initially they tried two separate operations to destroy the tumours, but unfortunately they have continued to grow and spread throughout both lungs. She is now at high risk of it spreading into her windpipe if she doesn’t receive a chemo that will target these tumours soon.

The Oncology team at both UCLH and The Royal Marsden agree that the best drug combination for her would be FOLFIRI in combination with Avastin (bevacizumab). Avastin is a monoclonal antibody that will block the blood vessels on the tumour from growing. Unfortunately, is not available on the NHS despite a lot of evidence to suggest it’s highly effective for patients like Minnie.

Minnie has written to various organisations and charities to see if there is anyway of obtaining financial support for this drug but to no avail.

Avastin per infusion will cost her roughly £1680 every fortnight. This infusion will take place at UCLH, and they have suggested she has 12 rounds initially, so she needs to raise £20,160 to pay for her treatment. UCLH want her to start this next Friday 20/09/24 because of how quickly it is growing.

Minnie has supported herself and continues to do so throughout her treatment but does not have the financial means to pay for this drug that both UCLH and The Royal Marsden say will give her the best chance of knocking her cancer back.

Minnie really wants to show others that a future is still possible, that you can work, laugh, live, even if you are in a situation like hers.

So please, please, please help Minnie kick this cancer right in the crotch!

All our love and gratitude Anya, Finella, Hanako, Hannah, Helena, Kath, Ri and Sedona xx
