Help Minnie Fight for Her Life

In the early morning hours of March 19th our beloved Minnie & her fiancé Kris (the love of her life for over 11 years) were driving to work, like any other day, when they were slammed into by a car that blew through a red-light going over 100 MPH.  Kris was driving and tragically died at the scene.  Minnie has spent the last three weeks on life support in a trauma center ICU, in and out of a coma with devastating injuries. She’s fighting for her life while healing from an aortic dissection, traumatic brain injury, broken clavicle, crushed pelvis, broken ribs, bleeding on the brain, fractured vertebrae, and a collapsed lung. We are so grateful for those who have been by her side around the clock since the accident, and who faced the heart-wrenching reality of knowing that if they were lucky enough to have her come out of the coma, they would have to answer her first question… “where’s Kris?”.

Minnie & Kris met in their teens and were each other’s everything. They had that special kind of love everyone dreams of.  With their whole lives ahead of them, they were planning for a happy future together, a future that now won’t be realized.  Minnie has thankfully shown signs of responsiveness and cognition, so this week she learned of Kris’ passing and is devastated beyond words.

While her improvements in responsiveness & cognition are encouraging, Minnie’s road to recovery will be many months, if not years.  The driver who caused this has minimum state insurance and the costs associated with her recovery are daunting – this is the last thing she should have to worry about as she struggles to rebuild her life.  Please help Minnie so that she can focus on healing and recovery without worrying about the immense financial burden that lies ahead.  Any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated and will make a difference.  Please feel free to share this link & please keep Minnie & her family in your thoughts & prayers.
