Pain Free Future for Mingus: Surgery Fund Needed
Donation protected
My young daughters and I are raising funds to afford a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy for our beloved dog, Mingus. This surgery repairs a rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament (CCL), which has rendered him unable to weight his right rear leg and left him in a near constant state of discomfort and pain.
It's been a difficult year for Mingus. He's endured multiple skin allergies (treated with medication that costs $2 a day), ear infections, and ehrlichiosis—a tick-borne illness contracted despite being on flea and tick guard.
It has also been a difficult year for our family with illness and loss among close loved ones, too many bills, and a tenuous job situation. I am a single dad, and the girls are 12 and 8 years old.
While we understand that there are many with far greater need than ours, we are hopeful that community generosity might make things a little easier for us. I am working day in and day out to lift our family financially.
We also hope that the spirit of Mingus matters here. He is an incredibly sweet and loving boy and an absolute joy to my girls. We need to get him back on all four feet—literally!
Funds will be directly applied to the cost of surgery ($5000) and recovery care. (TBD)
