Hi, my name is Katie and I am fundraising for my beautiful mama, Mindy. She started having abdominal pain last Saturday and thought it was her lupus acting up. After the weekend home and sleeping alot, her pain got worse. Tuesday she called Rob to have him take her to the ER. If you know my mom, you know this is out of character for her. After sitting in ER for forever she was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and taken to Barnes via ambulance. She has been there for a week now with no real end in sight. We keep taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Her abdominal area is full of infection, her white blood cell count is all over the place and her pain has not gone away. The doctors planned to put in a drain but they cannot seem to find an access point for it. I hate having to leave her every night.

The office she works for was bought out as of the beginning of the year and her vacation time changed and she hasn't accrued any time off to speak of. We are looking at least 6-8 weeks off work and maybe more depending on how she bounces back from this. Income will be nonexistent for her during this time.

She is so caring and giving. She always gives to charities and even sponsors a little boy in Africa, has for several years. If you can find it in your heart to help my mama, please do. Any little amount will help.
