Help Mindy Recover from her Accident and Spinal Cord Injury

My name is Janice Guidry. I am a nurse who works with Mindy Race in the operating room at Eisenhower Hospital in Rancho Mirage, CA. She is an amazing RN First Assist and a great asset to our team!

On Monday, December 16, 2024, Mindy got into a car accident on her way to work at 5:24 am. Someone came into her lane and hit her head-on. She was airlifted to Desert Regional Trauma Center in Palm Springs after suffering a broken neck and spinal cord injury requiring emergency surgery. Spinal decompression and surgery went well, but the long-term prognosis will be determined with time and extensive physical and occupational therapy.

After a week in the hospital and by the grace of God, Mindy was discharged home able to walk on her own. She continues to wear a neck brace and has issues with weakness and pain, but she is a fighter and is working hard to regain the strength and mobility she had prior to the accident.

Mindy loves all animals and the outdoors and lives with her husband Rick on a ranch in Temecula, CA. She loves to hike, lift weights, ride her horse Luna, and spend time with her dog and cats, and hopes to one day be able to do all of these things as she used to do.

We hope to raise funds for Mindy's monthly and medical bills as well as the cost of the helicopter to airlift her to the hospital, which is not fully covered by insurance. She will be out of work for an extended period of time and every donation counts!
