HELP MOTORCYCLIST FAMILY AFTER TRAGIC LOSS

Donation protected
My name is Mindy Geary and my husband, Shane Geary, was the fatality involved in the hit-and-run accident. It has been very difficult getting the courage to start this GoFundMe. I would like to share that this tragedy was not expected and has left me in a position of need and support.

My husband and I were moving out of our home of 8 years and moving to a different space by the end of the month. Since we closed down our restaurant, Fred’s Downtown Philly, during Covid, we were already left with unexpected debts and circumstances. Since then, I have been a full-time caregiver for my mother with many health issues and dementia. Our daughter has also been diagnosed with some medical issues this past year that were unexpected and are continuing. We were already doing the best we could to stay on our feet and to provide for our family the best we could. Shane was also staying several days a week with his mother, who was ill. His mother, Tina, recently passed away and her memorial is this coming weekend.

I am asking for assistance with unexpected service expenses and help placing us into our new home as well as for food, help with utilities, and legal aid that I will be needing for this open hit-and-run case. During the time of his accident, his vehicle was just placed in the shop and has $2,500 worth of repairs that I was just informed of to receive the car back in its normal and safe condition. He was driving his motorcycle in the cold that morning, returning home since his vehicle was in the repair process. My husband loved his motorcycle and was a very safe and respectful rider at all times. He loved all of his bikes that he had throughout the last several years. He made many friends through other riders and met with them on occasion. One thing about Shane was that his friend circle was huge! He had a heart of gold for others. On the day before he left home, he paid for the prescription of a complete stranger at the Walmart pharmacy who didn’t have enough money while he was picking up our daughter's medication.

Shane has an amazing family that he left behind and four children. He left his son Aden, the twins, Gwendolyn and Jaden, and his daughter Phoenix. He had an older sister Shannon and a younger brother Brian and his niece Q. Along with his immediate family, he has left several aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins and furry friends. Some of his favorite things were Notre Dame college football, riding his bike, coin collecting, reading, and definitely spending time with his closest friends.
